I hated to leave the farmhouse but I had to make a change in my life so I moved back to my family home town and I rented an apartment.   My commute to my job at the railyards in Northlake was much better and it was nice to get out on my own.

About a year earlier I met Debbie in a bar in nearby Forest Park but we didn’t continue to see each other.  When I moved to Oak Park I dropped her a line and told her that I’d be going back to that bar on a particular night.  She showed up and we started dating again.   The rest is history.
