Food!

I found out that Fortunato means Food!   I went to Debbie’s  house for Thanksgiving and the whole crowd was gathered in the basement of the old Chicago bungalow.  They brought out the salads and the Pasta Fasol.  The hot and mild sausages and meatballs were drenched in tomato sauce and they tasted fabulous.  Then  they brought out the pans of Lasagna and mostacholi and I was stuffed.  It’s not the traditional Thanksgiving meal that I was used to, but it was the best  Thanksgiving dinner that I ever had.  They cleared away the plates and brought out the next course.  Turkey, potatos, stuffing, sweet potatos, fried zucini and  more.   How could these people eat like this and none of them were fat?
Food is a tradition in the Fortunato family and if you learn to pace yourself - you can survive.
