Bonedance

Back in 1995 Sean asked me to draw a picture for him.  I asked him if he had any ideas and he said, “Can you make me a drawing  with skeletons in it?”

Bonedance is a party that is taking place in a fictional graveyard where Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and several other dead musicians are buried.  On the left side of the drawing I buried Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers because someone needed to  teach those rockers to dance.

I really enjoyed creating this drawing because I was able to give a creepy life to the trees as they looked on at the ghoulish festivities.   Even the old man in the moon is watching the party.

This drawing took me about two years to complete.
