127 Ashland Ave. - LaGrange, Illinois
This was another great old house.  We lived only a few blocks from my cousins.
One of my most relaxing memories was early one morning at this house.  An early spring rain was sifting through the screen onto my face and the milktruck had just stopped in front of our house.   The brakes squeaked and then the milkman walked up the driveway with his milkbottles clinking.
I had many, many great memories at this house.   My brother Steve was born here and the black woman who helped around the house taught me how to make fried egg sandwiches.

My cousins, the Weilands, lived about six blocks from us on Ashland Ave.   This was their house.

I went to kintergarten and first grade at St. Francis Xavier.  My cousin Johnathan went to kintergarten with me.  I learned how to read, write and count at this school.
We received our First Holy Communion at this church.   Before receiving communion for the first time I asked my older cousin what the host tastes like.  He said it tasted like hot mustard and burning hot peppers and I believed him.
